Exclusions
Stop recording traffic from chosen IP addresses, paths, hostnames or countries.
Settings → Exclusions keeps traffic you don't want out of your stats — your office, an admin area, a staging hostname. It needs the Editor role or above.
| Exclusion | Matches | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Exclude IP addresses | The visitor's exact IP address. | 203.0.113.7 |
| Exclude paths | A page path, exactly or with * as a wildcard. | /admin/* |
| Exclude hostnames | An exact hostname, ignoring case. Useful for staging or preview hostnames. | staging.example.com |
| Exclude countries | A two-letter ISO 3166-1 country code. | CN |
Add each entry with Add and remove it with Remove.
- Excluded traffic is dropped when it arrives and never stored, so it doesn't appear in any report, alert or session replay.
- Exclusions aren't retroactive: data recorded before you added an exclusion stays.
- If you send data through a first-party proxy, make sure it forwards the visitor's real IP (
X-Forwarded-For), or IP and country exclusions will see the proxy's address instead.
To exclude just your own browser without listing an IP, see Excluding your own visits.
